Chamiah Goulbourne
Chamiah is a plant-based retreat chef and facilitator of Women’s Circles. She has always been in awe of the alchemy of transforming fresh ingredients into something tasty and wonderful. Her earliest memories of food are standing on a stool to better reach the kitchen worktop while baking in the kitchen with her Nana and Sunday afternoons at her Grandma’s house, with steaming bowls and platters spread across the table for feasting.
Due to a period of ill health, overnight Chamiah changed her diet and so her cooking style too, learning to make meals without meat, diary, eggs, or refined sugars. And instead creating plant-focused dishes that made veg the star of the show. The diet change to veganism worked, and full health was restored, enriching Chamiah’s belief in the healing benefits of plants and the natural world. Passion ignited, Chamiah has since been on a mission to share this knowledge with others, encouraging each of us to feast with more veg on our plates.
Chamiah’s food career has seen her bringing women together through social eating, setting up her own pop-up cafés, catering wellbeing retreats in Europe and the UK and creating and developing countless recipes from her home kitchen.
Over the past few years, Chamiah’s interest has edged yet a little deeper into the natural world, and when not creating plant-centric dishes you can still find her in the kitchen concocting healing balms, salves and tinctures from the seasonal gifts she forages in the wilds of nature.
