Yoga retreats and holidays in France

Come and enjoy the stunning French Alps, loved in both the summer and the winter there is so much to do.

In winter, experience the ski areas dotted all over the French Alps. There are so many to choose from and we have been running our yoga and ski holidays since 2006 in various areas around the French Alps. We are back in La Rosiere for 2023, a ski area we love. We are based in ski in ski out wellness apartments right in the centre of La Rosiere surrounded by shops, restaurants, ski school and ski hire and fabulous views on the south facing mountain side so sun all day. La Rosiere is connected with La Thuile in Italy and is part of the San Bernadino ski area. Enjoy a croissant for breakfast and a pizza for lunch! The ski area is great for beginners, intermediate and advanced, there is something for everyone.

If you are a beginner and have had enough after your ski lesson you can get back to your accommodation easily and choose to relax there or try out the wellness facilities such as gym, swimming pool and spa area and relax with a massage. Or have lunch in a restaurant whilst enjoying amazing views.

In summer the alps have very relaxing energy and a slow pace, surrounded by the gorgeous bright colours of spring and summer with wildflowers and wild blueberries contrasting with the snowcapped mountain tops. Anytime in the French Alps in summer is a great time to be there. In fact, July and August are great times to be there to get away from the heat and crowds of the coastline in Europe. It is still possible to enjoy long hikes in peak summer because with altitude it gets cooler. As well as hiking in the summer there are lots of bike tracks for downhill or road cycling, try parapenting or even white water rafting. It can be an active holiday in summer but there is always time to relax in the sunshine and read a good book.

Your summer French Alps holiday for 2023 is situated in a quaint and peaceful French village 1300m above sea level with views across to Courcheval and Meribel ski areas. The views are breathtaking here and a real feast for the eyes. Your week will be packed with visits to local markets, hiking high up in the mountains, picnic stops, meditating with the views, spa days, a cooking workshop.

Whatever season you prefer, The French Alps are a stunning location to enjoy yoga, healthy food, great company and your activity of choice so that you return home with your body mind and soul nourished.

FAQ's for French Alps Winter and Summer

Where do I fly to and how long is the transfer?

Fly to Geneva. We have recommended flight times so that you can meet the transfer bus that is included in the price of the holiday. It takes around 3 hours from Geneva to the venue in La Rosiere or just less than 2 hours to your summer venue.

Can I travel overland if I don't want to fly?

Yes, you can! We base our holidays in the Tarentaise valley because the town of Bourg Saint Maurice is only a short drive away and is where the snow train arrives in winter and general trains arrive in summer.

For winter, you can either get the snow train which is overnight and arrives in the morning of the start day of the holiday so you can choose to have an extra day skiing. Or you can get the day train to arrive later in the afternoon. It is a 20-minute transfer from Bourg-St-Maurice to La Rosiere.

In summer, you can travel by train to Bourg-St-Maurice and change in Paris and we will pick you up. It is around a 40-minute transfer from the train station to the summer venue.

Find ouit more about how to get to each venue in our 'how to get there' section at the bottom of the holiday page.
