Thaleia Ioanna
Born in Peru but of Greek heritage, Thaleia has lived in eight countries. After a career in architecture and interior design, yoga became a turning point, helping her find a new purpose. Trained at Soma Yoga Institute and in Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), she has taught for four years and led retreats in Greece and Italy. She finds joy in simple pleasures: listening to birds, admiring wildflowers on a hike or watching the sea. She hopes guests leave feeling rested, grounded and with a renewed appreciation for life.
What to expect on a retreat with Thaleia:
Thaleia blends Slow Flow, Yin and Restorative Yoga with somatic movement and Qigong, helping guests slow down, release tension and reconnect with themselves. Classes balance flowing movement, stillness and the occasional physical challenge, alongside mindfulness and self-compassion meditation.
Classes are open to all levels and abilities. With a trauma-informed approach, guests are free to adapt movements, make their own choices and practise at their own pace, without pressure to perform or achieve a particular shape.
Warm, kind and naturally curious, Thaleia loves bringing people together and creating a sense of belonging. For her, retreats are also about enjoying the experience: meaningful conversations, beautiful surroundings and having fun along the way.
