7 Nights Yoga Holiday in Sicily

Join us on our 7 night Yoga Holiday in Sicily, set in the south of the island near Marina Di Ragusa. Begin each day with yoga, explore Sicily’s nature with a guided walk, followed by a day trip to the historic towns of Ragusa and Modica. Spend your free time relaxing by the pool or cycle down to the sea for a swim in the Mediterranean sea. This retreat is perfect for those seeking a holiday to rest whilst remaining active with yoga, walks and culture.

Discover the beauty of southern Sicily on our 7-night yoga holiday based near the coastal town of Marina di Ragusa. With the Mediterranean Sea nearby and the charm of Baroque towns just a short drive away, this retreat offers the perfect blend of relaxation, culture, and connection to nature. Begin each morning with an energising vinyasa and hatha flow yoga practice, and end your day with yin and restorative sessions that will leave you feeling reset.

Your home for the week is a beautifully restored 19th-century farmhouse nestled on a natural terrace with panoramic views of the countryside and the sea. Just 30 minutes walk from the golden beaches of Marina di Ragusa, this peaceful retreat venue offers renovated apartments, each with its own private entrance, bathroom, and views across the sea and countryside. Enjoy time unwinding by the infinity pool or walking through the small pine grove on the grounds.

On our Sicily yoga retreat, we include a range of activities to help you experience the best of the island’s natural beauty and rich culture. Take part on a walk through the Sicilian landscape, followed by a day trip to the historic towns of Ragusa and Modica, where you can admire UNESCO-listed Baroque architecture. Another highlight is a hands-on cooking class with a local chef, giving you the chance to learn traditional Sicilian recipes using local seasonal ingredients.

On the free days you have the time to unwind at your own pace. You may choose to relax on the beaches, explore more of the island on a cycling tour, or simply spend time reading by the pool. If you’d like to venture further afield, we’re happy to help arrange additional excursions or local experiences.

All meals on our retreat are vegetarian, lovingly prepared using local produce. You’ll enjoy a fresh and nourishing breakfast, a light lunch, and a satisfying evening meal each day. Vegan and other dietary needs are also catered for.

Our Sicily yoga retreat takes place during a quieter season, when the island is beginning to come alive and the weather is beautifully warm but not too hot for activities.

Surrounded by nature and with views of the golden beaches of Marina di Ragusa, this peaceful retreat space offers the perfect setting to unwind. The pool is a serene spot to sunbathe or read a book, and the garden, pine grove, and shaded terraces invite you to slow down and soak up the Sicilian sun. The yoga shala is a shaded terrace underneath the trees, or if the weather isn’t permitting there is an indoor space too.

The venue is made up of 8 independent apartments, each with its own private entrance, bathroom, and views of the sea or countryside. Some of the apartments include twin sharing rooms, while others offer single occupancy double rooms. Each apartment is uniquely styled, blending Sicilian tradition with contemporary comfort, and includes Wi-Fi and modern amenities.

There’s a common room for gathering, a shared outdoor dining area, and plenty of quiet corners throughout the grounds where you can relax and take in the view.

This tranquil venue is ideal for lounging by the pool, hiring a bicycle to take a short cycle down to the beach, and practicing yoga on the shaded outdoor terrace.

Sustainability
Sustainability

We are working towards reducing our carbon footprint, and here are some ways we, as a company, are doing this.

  • We are an 88% vegan company, 10% vegetarian and 2% fish or meat (only when staying in boutique hotels that offer these options). This makes up a huge percentage of carbon emissions that we easily avoid because our food is still delicious, balanced and creative. So, thanks to you all for enjoying our healthy (mostly) plant-based meals.

The difference: Most travel companies find it hard to encourage their travellers to reduce their meat and dairy consumption, which accounts for a large portion of their carbon emissions.

  • We stay primarily in one location for the duration of the retreat. We have started staying in a few locations on our long haul, but it is limited to 2 or 3 locations over an 8 – 10 night period. Staying in one place means low carbon emissions because we aren’t burning fuel to get around.

The difference: Other adventure travel companies move around every two days, using alot of petrol in vehicles for sometimes only 1 or 2 people.

  • Our activities are low-impact—yoga, hiking, surfing, skiing/boarding, whitewater rafting, SUP, and kayaking are all very low-carbon activities, in fact, zero-carbon (except skiing/snowboarding due to the ski lifts, which is also low). These activities are included in the price we measure. The carbon may increase with travel to and from these activities in vehicles.

The difference: Other travel companies can include high-carbon activities in the price, such as jet skiing, quad biking, and jeep driving, which increases their carbon footprint.

  • We run more than half of our retreats and holidays in the UK; these are very low-carbon holidays.

We currently don’t measure our guests’ travel as part of our carbon output because our guests don’t only come from the UK, so it is hard for us to predict this. We also don’t include travel in the holiday price, which is not part of our calculations. We know that we provide these holidays, so we are looking to include this carbon measurement in the future so we are investigating how we can reduce this.

The carbon measurements at the top of the page with the icons are per person for the whole retreat.

Ultra-low-carbon holidays

These holidays are below 200 kg per person, and our UK retreats are below 100 or even 70 kg, so these are great adventures for low carbon breaks.

Ski holidays are actually low in carbon!

In France, many ski resorts are turning to green energy to power the lifts. If you eat low in meat and dairy while you’re there and hire your ski equipment, this makes your trip as low-carbon as possible.

How can you help?

There are ways that you can help reduce your carbon when coming on our retreats and holidays:

  • Travel by train, try slow travel across Europe and the UK.
  • If travelling abroad to Europe or further afield, choose carbon capture schemes, check out Ecologi. Offsetting is not the best thing to do these days, but try carbon capture where you pay for carbon to be absorbed into the environment.
  • Car share UK – we recommend when guests travel by train to arrive and depart at the same time to taxi share – which helps keep costs and carbon emissions down. Why not consider car share, too? Most guests who drive come alone or with a friend; we have WhatsApp groups that, if you like, you can see who is driving from your area and enjoy getting to know each other on the way to the retreats, and save on your carbon emissions at the same time!

We are by no means saints when it comes to producing carbon, as a travel company we know this is very difficult to reduce. We are working to reduce our carbon output each year by measuring it and then creating plans to reduce it. We are reviewing all our venues and asking them how they can improve their carbon reduction as we don’t own any of our venues but we would like to work with them to help in any way we can.  We want to be transparent with this, so please get in touch for more information. As we change things, we will update the website.

Reviews

Beautiful Italy

Our Italy yoga retreats feel different to the likes of other European countries. It is famed for its beauty, history, culture and amazing food but what isn’t so well known is its beautiful landscapes and variety of landscapes, from the Dolomite mountain range in the north to the Tuscan hills in the middle and south and beautiful beaches all along both sides of the boot.

Our yoga retreats in Italy this year are in Puglia which is known for it’s beautiful coastline, charming towns and of course the beautiful trullis.

We are so excited to be providing a leading yoga holiday in Italy at our Puglia location.
