7 Nights Ski & Yoga Holiday in Samoëns

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new destination for 2026, our magical ski and yoga retreat in Samoëns, French Alps. This is a winter escape packed with adventure in the heart of the mountains combining days on the slopes with yoga, wholesome food and time to unwind in the sauna or outdoor hot tub under the stars.

You’ll be staying in the beautifully restored 18th-century farmhouse in the peaceful hamlet of Vallon d’en Bas, close to the centre of Samoëns. Surrounded by incredible mountain views, with private gardens, a traditional hot tub and a Swedish sauna it’s the perfect setting for an active but revitalising retreat.

We’re so excited to be heading to Samoëns for the first time! It’s a stunning alpine village filled with character, charm and plenty of atmosphere. Part of the vast Grand Massif ski area, you’ll have access to 265km of pistes, from tree-lined blues and gentle greens to exciting red runs and off-piste terrain for the more adventurous. There is a ski bus stop just 300m from the chalet, and heated lockers available at the lift station.

The chalet itself has everything you could dream of after an active day in the snow, two roaring fires, a cosy lounge with a library area. The yoga is in a warm, spacious renovated barn with exposed beams. The traditional outdoor hot tub offers dreamy views across the snowy garden to the surrounding peaks, and the sauna is perfect for soothing post-ski muscles! The farmhouse has 8 ensuite bedrooms with a mix of single and twin occupancy and either a private balcony or stunning views.

Your day will start with energising morning yoga to get you ready for the slopes. After breakfast, head off for a day of skiing or snowboarding in one of France’s best-loved ski areas. Return at your own pace, whether you stay out all day or come back early to soak in the hot tub, or a fireside nap, it’s all up to you. In the evening, we’ll come together for a more restorative yoga practice before settling in for a delicious two-course plant-based dinner.

This retreat is perfect for all levels of skier or snowboarder, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking for a more advanced challenge. Samoëns and the wider Grand Massif area have something for everyone.

We can’t wait to welcome you to our new Winter Ski & Yoga retreat in Samoëns. Experience the magic of the Alps in total comfort and style, rest, recharge, and reconnect with your adventurous side.

About the Food
About the Food

All of our retreat chefs are highly experienced and passionate about their craft. We have always been a vegan/vegetarian company since 2006.

Expect a delicious, warming, and wholesome breakfast to get you ready to hit the slopes and a hearty two-course evening meal to fill you up after an exhilarating day skiing or snowboarding.

We are usually more vegan these days, but seeing as we are in the French Alps, expect a fondue, a more vegetarian menu and a selection of local cheeses. If you are vegan or gluten-free or have any other dietary needs we can cater for this, just let us know on booking.

One evening meal will be spent at a local restaurant.

Lunch – You can get snacks for lunch in the mountains. Or there are mountain restaurants to choose from and enjoy.

We are working towards reducing our carbon footprint, and here are some ways we, as a company, are doing this.

We are a 88% vegan company, 10% vegetarian and 2% fish or meat (only when staying in boutique hotels that offer these options). This makes up a huge percentage of carbon emissions that we avoid so easily because our food is still delicious, balanced and even more creative. So, thanks to you all for enjoying our healthy (mostly) plant-based meals.

The difference: Most travel companies struggle to reduce their travellers’ meat and dairy consumption, which accounts for a large portion of their carbon emissions.

We stay primarily in one location for the duration of the retreat. We have started staying in a few locations on our long haul, but it is limited to 2 or 3 locations over an 8 – 10 night period. Staying in one place means low carbon emissions because we aren’t burning fuel to get around.

The difference: Other adventure travel companies move around every two days, using alot of petrol in vehicles for sometimes only 1 or 2 people.

Our activities are low-impact—yoga, hiking, surfing, skiing/boarding, whitewater rafting, SUP, and kayaking are all very low-carbon activities, in fact, zero-carbon (except skiing/snowboarding due to the ski lifts, which is also low). These activities are included in the price we measure. The carbon may increase with travel to and from these activities in vehicles.

The difference: Other travel companies can include high-carbon activities in the price, such as jet skiing, quad biking, and jeep driving, which increases their carbon footprint.

We run more than half of our retreats and holidays in the UK; these are very low-carbon holidays.

We currently don’t measure our guests’ travel as part of our carbon output because our guests don’t only come from the UK, so it is hard for us to predict this. We also don’t include travel in the holiday price, which is not part of our calculations. We know that we provide these holidays, so we are looking to include this carbon measurement in the future so we are investigating how we can reduce this.

The carbon measurements at the top of the page with the icons are per person for the whole retreat.

Ultra-low-carbon holidays

These holidays are below 200 kg per person, and our UK retreats are below 100 or even 70 kg, so these are great adventures for low carbon breaks.

Ski holidays are actually low in carbon!

In France, many ski resorts are turning to green energy to power the lifts. If you eat low in meat and dairy while you’re there and hire your ski equipment, this makes your trip as low-carbon as possible.

How can you help?

There are ways that you can help reduce your carbon when coming on our retreats and holidays:

Travel by train, try slow travel across Europe and the UK.
If travelling abroad to Europe or further afield, choose carbon capture schemes, check out Ecologi. Offsetting is not the best thing to do these days, but try carbon capture where you pay for carbon to be absorbed into the environment.
Car share UK – we recommend when guests travel by train to arrive and depart at the same time to taxi share – which helps keep costs and carbon emissions down. Why not consider car share, too? Most guests who drive come alone or with a friend; we have WhatsApp groups that, if you like, you can see who is driving from your area and enjoy getting to know each other on the way to the retreats, and save on your carbon emissions at the same time!

We are by no means saints when it comes to producing carbon, as a travel company we know this is very difficult to reduce. We are working to reduce our carbon output each year by measuring it and then creating plans to reduce it. We are reviewing all our venues and asking them how they can improve their carbon reduction as we don’t own any of our venues but we would like to work with them to help in any way we can. We want to be transparent with this, so please get in touch for more information. As we change things, we will update the website.

Beautiful France

Our France yoga holidays are situated in the breathtaking French Alps mountain range. For 2026, we are offering retreats in two stunning alpine locations: our beloved La Rosière in the Tarentaise Valley, and our new retreat home in Samoëns, nestled in the Grand Massif region. Whether you’re joining us in winter for skiing and snowboarding or in summer for hiking and mountain adventures, both destinations offer an unforgettable balance of activity, relaxation, and reconnection.

La Rosière – Winter

We’ve been hosting yoga retreats in La Rosière for over 15 years, and it continues to be one of our favourite locations in the French Alps. Located at 1,850m in the Tarentaise Valley, this charming resort is known for its sun-drenched slopes, welcoming atmosphere, and incredible views across the valley. In winter, it’s a skier’s dream with ski-in-ski-out access and the San Bernardo ski area, which connects with La Thuile in Italy.

The ski terrain here is fantastic for all levels. Beginners will love the wide-open front-facing slopes, while more experienced skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the full mountain and venture over the Italian border and back. Our accommodation is in modern wellness apartments right in the heart of the village, with shops, restaurants, ski hire and ski school just steps away. After a morning on the slopes, return to unwind in the sauna, enjoy the indoor pool, book a massage, or simply soak up the mountain views from the hot tub.

Travelling to La Rosière is easy and low-impact. You can take the train via Paris from London St Pancras to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, followed by a short 20-minute taxi to the village. Train travellers can also benefit from a 15% discount on their ski pass.

In summer, La Rosière becomes a peaceful alpine escape. The lifts remain open for walkers and mountain bikers, and the trails are lined with wildflowers, offering expansive views and quiet spots for picnics or wild swims. Our summer hiking yoga retreats include three guided hikes, visits to Bourg-Saint-Maurice for white-water rafting or relaxing in the pool, and plenty of time to enjoy the wellness centre and the natural surroundings. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and restoration.

Samoëns – Winter & Summer

New for 2026, we are introducing our yoga retreats in the beautiful alpine village of Samoëns. Tucked away in the Grand Massif region, Samoëns is a true hidden gem, charming, traditional, and surrounded by jaw-dropping scenery. It’s one of the few alpine resorts classified as a historic monument, and it offers a peaceful, authentic feel while still giving access to a huge ski and hiking area.

In winter, Samoëns connects to the Grand Massif ski area with 265km of pistes. From tree-lined beginner runs to challenging reds and off-piste routes, there’s something for every skier or snowboarder. A free ski bus stops just 300m from the chalet and takes you to the Grand Massif Express gondola. You can store your gear in heated lockers at the lift station, making your daily ski routine smooth and stress-free.

In summer, the surrounding mountains are filled with hiking and biking trails, waterfalls, and panoramic viewpoints. You can swim in natural lakes, try paragliding, or simply enjoy the peaceful garden at the chalet.

Our home in Samoëns is a restored 18th-century farmhouse. With 8 ensuite bedrooms, a yoga barn, hot tub, Swedish sauna, and private gardens, this is a space designed for true relaxation. Whether you’re sipping tea on the terrace, practising yoga, or curling up with a book after a day of adventure, you’ll feel at peace from the moment you arrive.

The centre of Samoëns is just a 12-minute walk from the chalet, so you can enjoy a coffee in the medieval square, visit the botanical gardens, or explore the local market.

Whichever destination you choose, La Rosière or Samoëns, in summer or winter, our French Alps yoga holidays are designed to help you reconnect with yourself, spend time in nature, enjoy nourishing food, and feel supported every step of the way.
