7 Nights Ski & Yoga Holiday in La Rosiere 2025

Skiing and snowboarding are back! Come and join us on our exhilarating 7 nights ski and yoga holiday in La Rosiere, French Alps. You will be staying in a ski-in-ski-out wellness apartment hotel so you are free to go up the mountain when you like. Amongst the adventure you can enjoy the sauna, swimming pool or outdoor hot tub at the venue.

We are very excited to return to our winter skiing or snowboarding yoga holiday in La Rosiere in 2025. We started AdventureYogi with this yoga holiday in 2006, so skiing and snowboarding yoga holidays are our passions.

For our ski yoga retreat, we are returning to an old favourite ski area, La Rosiere and the ski area of San Bernadino. It is a fantastic ski area that combines La Rosiere on the French side and La Thuile on the Italian side that it connects to.

We are in newly developed ski-in-ski-out wellness apartments in the heart of La Rosiere ski village, right next to the ski school and main ski lift.  With such easy access, you can come and go as you please to the slopes, and you have shops, cafes, and ski hire shops at your fingertips. The apartment building also has warming ski lockers, so after a day on the slopes, you can lock your kit away and know it will dry the next day.

An extra bonus is that the apartments also have a wellness centre. Here, you can access a 15-metre indoor heated swimming pool, saunas, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, and a gym. The centre is open from 10 am to 10 pm so that you can have a morning swim or a late-night sauna. It is perfect if you are a beginner and are taking a ski or snowboard course on the baby slopes in La Rosiere and you choose to take the afternoon off to relax.

You will be staying in two apartments next door to each other. One will be the yoga space, and the other the living/dining space. Both have stunning valley views of the whole Tarantaise valley, with stunning sunsets every night.

La Rosière —Espace San Bernardo ski area stands out for its sunshine, snow coverage, and connection with Italy. In 2019, a whole new ski area was created called the Mont Valaisan ski area. It boasts 5 new red runs at an altitude of 2800m, offering more challenging terrain for the more advanced skier or boarder and more freeride terrain. La Rosiere is also known for great beginner runs and gentle slopes, so it is perfect for all levels.

On our La Rosiere ski and snowboard yoga retreat in March, start the day with yoga and get set for a full day of skiing. Return to the apartment whenever you feel like it, enjoy the spa wellness area, unwind with a massage and a more restorative yoga class, and prepare for a delicious two-course hearty and wholesome vegan/vegetarian evening meal.

If you don’t want to fly, you don’t have to—take the train to Bourg St Maurice, which is only a 25-minute transfer away.

Sustainability

We are working towards reducing our carbon footprint, and here are some ways we, as a company, are doing this.

We are a 88% vegan company, 10% vegetarian and 2% fish or meat (only when staying in boutique hotels that offer these options). This makes up a huge percentage of carbon emissions that we avoid so easily because our food is still delicious, balanced and even more creative. So, thanks to you all for enjoying our healthy (mostly) plant-based meals.

The difference: Most travel companies struggle to reduce their travellers’ meat and dairy consumption, which accounts for a large portion of their carbon emissions.

We stay primarily in one location for the duration of the retreat. We have started staying in a few locations on our long haul, but it is limited to 2 or 3 locations over an 8 – 10 night period. Staying in one place means low carbon emissions because we aren’t burning fuel to get around.

The difference: Other adventure travel companies move around every two days, using alot of petrol in vehicles for sometimes only 1 or 2 people.

Our activities are low-impact—yoga, hiking, surfing, skiing/boarding, whitewater rafting, SUP, and kayaking are all very low-carbon activities, in fact, zero-carbon (except skiing/snowboarding due to the ski lifts, which is also low). These activities are included in the price we measure. The carbon may increase with travel to and from these activities in vehicles.

The difference: Other travel companies can include high-carbon activities in the price, such as jet skiing, quad biking, and jeep driving, which increases their carbon footprint.

We run more than half of our retreats and holidays in the UK; these are very low-carbon holidays.

We currently don’t measure our guests’ travel as part of our carbon output because our guests don’t only come from the UK, so it is hard for us to predict this. We also don’t include travel in the holiday price, which is not part of our calculations. We know that we provide these holidays, so we are looking to include this carbon measurement in the future so we are investigating how we can reduce this.

The carbon measurements at the top of the page with the icons are per person for the whole retreat.

Ultra-low-carbon holidays

These holidays are below 200 kg per person, and our UK retreats are below 100 or even 70 kg, so these are great adventures for low carbon breaks.

Ski holidays are actually low in carbon!

In France, many ski resorts are turning to green energy to power the lifts. If you eat low in meat and dairy while you’re there and hire your ski equipment, this makes your trip as low-carbon as possible.

How can you help?

There are ways that you can help reduce your carbon when coming on our retreats and holidays:

Travel by train, try slow travel across Europe and the UK.
If travelling abroad to Europe or further afield, choose carbon capture schemes, check out Ecologi. Offsetting is not the best thing to do these days, but try carbon capture where you pay for carbon to be absorbed into the environment.
Car share UK – we recommend when guests travel by train to arrive and depart at the same time to taxi share – which helps keep costs and carbon emissions down. Why not consider car share, too? Most guests who drive come alone or with a friend; we have WhatsApp groups that, if you like, you can see who is driving from your area and enjoy getting to know each other on the way to the retreats, and save on your carbon emissions at the same time!

We are by no means saints when it comes to producing carbon, as a travel company we know this is very difficult to reduce. We are working to reduce our carbon output each year by measuring it and then creating plans to reduce it. We are reviewing all our venues and asking them how they can improve their carbon reduction as we don’t own any of our venues but we would like to work with them to help in any way we can. We want to be transparent with this, so please get in touch for more information. As we change things, we will update the website.

For the last two years the best snowfall has been in March and it is usually the best month to go skiing because the base layer of snow is good, the snow falls, the weather is warmer and the days are longer.
You fly to Geneva to arrive for the transfer included in the price. See the 'getting there' section for more info on this
Yes! Most of our guests travel solo, or with a friend or family member. It's a great way to meet like-minded people and find yoga travel buddies!
We cater for all ages and like to think we are really inclusive. Age ranges from 20 to 70! The main age group for our ski yoga holidays is 25 - 55 years old…and ALL welcome!
- Ski gear; thermals for top and bottoms, ski socks, base layer, fleece middle layer and jumper for extra warmth in case, ski jacket and trousers, ski gloves
- A hat, goggles, sunglasses, suncream
- A back pack and water bottle
- Yoga gear
- Yoga mat
- Relaxing clothes for the apartment in the evening/down time
- A good book
- slippers to stay extra cosy or thick socks
- Your ski card pass if you have one from the year before!
All levels are welcome of both. If you are an avid skier/boarder and have not tried yoga, this is also for you! If you are a beginner skier/snowboarder it is perfect because you can enjoy your lesson and then choose to relax in the wellness centre or continue to practice on the mountain.
It is usually a real mix so all levels of both ski and snowboard are welcome. We usualy have a few complete beginners on ski and snowboard, and then the intermediate group on ski and snowboard head out together on the first day and the group naturally splits into lower and upper intermediate. The groups are so supportive and friendly that everyone tries to meet up for lucnhes on the mountain, complete beginners too so no-one is left out.
We have two apartments with a selection of twin sharing rooms with en-suite or a shared bathroom and the same with single/double occupancy. There are balconies with valley views or mountain views. One apartment is used for dining and relaxing and the other for yoga.
It is a ski/snowboard yoga holiday! You can be a beginner level of ski or snowboarding or advanced, there is something for everyone. It is a group holiday for 12 - 14 guests, male and female. We usually get a good balance of male/females on this yoga holiday. People travel solo or with friends. It's a very active adventure with two yoga classes a day too! If you need a break go down to the wellness centre and relax in the sauna or have a massage.
Yes, there are.
No, they are not. Please bring your mat with you

Beautiful France

Our France yoga holidays are situated in the stunning French Alps mountain range. We are based in La Rosiere in the Tarentaise valley in winter and in summer.

Any part of the French Alps is breathtaking, with snowcapped mountains and glaciers all year round. We have explored many areas and we come back to this valley because it has so much on offer. The skiing is exceptional and great for all levels and the hiking is so vast and the views are awe-inspiring.

Being connected to nature is one of our values here because we know first-hand the benefits of it for mental health from our years of running retreats. And we wish to protect the planet also now more than ever and The French Alps are accessible by train from Europe and the UK to help do this.

Whatever season you prefer, The French Alps are a stunning location to enjoy yoga, healthy food, great company and your activity of choice so that you return home with your body mind and soul nourished.

For 2024/25 we are running both our ski/snowboard yoga holidays and hiking/multi-adventure yoga holidays in La Rosiere in the French Alps.

We have been staying around this area for the last 15 years and love the summers in the ski resort as much as the winters.

This ski/ summer mountain area is a part of the Tarentaise Valley which comprises other ski areas such as Val D’Isere and Tignes, Les Arcs and St Foy. La Rosiere is situated on the south-facing side of the mountain range so the front face of the ski mountain has sun all day with beautiful sunsets.

Ski Information

Low carbon travel:  If you would prefer to travel by train rather than fly then there are trains via Paris from London St Pancras to Bourg-Saint-Maurice and then only a short 20-minute transfer to your accommodation.

You can get 15% off your ski pass if you travel by train – find out more here.

La Rosiere itself is a part of the San Bernadino ski area, which is connected with La Thuile in Italy which means that you can enjoy the playful traverse to La Thuile which is usually the road in the summer for the mountain pass.  It also means you can enjoy croissants for breakfast and pasta or pizza for lunch. Or a bombadino if you are feeling adventurous!

The ski area is great for beginners, intermediate and advanced, there is something for everyone. Beginners can stay at the front side of La Rosiere and the more intermediate can ski all the way to Italy and back.

We are based in ski-in-ski-out wellness apartments right in the centre of La Rosiere surrounded by shops, restaurants, ski school, and ski hire and fabulous views on the south-facing mountain side so sun all day.

If you are a beginner and have had enough after your ski lesson you can get back to your accommodation easily and choose to relax there or try out the wellness facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, and spa area and relax with a massage. Or have lunch in a restaurant whilst enjoying amazing views.

Summer information

We have chosen this area because we love the Tarantaise Valley and all that it offers. You will be staying in the same wellness apartments that we use for our ski yoga holidays. They are centrally located in the small ski village of La Rosiere, right at the foot of the ski lifts and slopes so you can easily access the mountains. This means that the elevation is already 1850m, with panoramic views of the whole valley and a stunning sunset every evening.

In the French Alps, you are surrounded by nature. You will spend your time hiking to high peaks and enjoying picnics in the sun with stunning views. You also have the chance to visit Bourg-Saint-Maurice and experience white water-rafting. This destination is the perfect place to balance relaxation and adventure.
