Sue Matthews
Sue’s yoga classes are a continuing and evolving journey to discover ways to use the breath to help you create space in body and mind so you can feel stronger, supple and more at ease. Sue is a lover of props and uses these to invite gentleness and mindful movement.
Sue likes to combine Hatha flow, somatic, meditation and breath work. She encourages students to explore ways to find both strength and softness inside. Her classes include a mix of movement, breathwork, meditation and yoga philosophy, often using themes as a way to invite a deeper understanding of yoga. Each class is a personal journey, props are offered, options and modifications given, rest is always encouraged.
Sue completed her 200 hour Hatha yoga training with Green Yoga International in Spain, since then she has over 500 hours of training to include pregnancy yoga, post-natal and menopause yoga for women’s health. Sue has studied Yin yoga, yoga for healthy lower backs and Somatic floor-based restorative yoga. Sue is also trained in Thai Yoga massage. Prior to being a yoga teacher Sue worked as a paediatric nurse, health visitor and Psychology teacher – a varied career which has influenced her yoga teaching.
Outside of yoga Sue is very active – a keen cyclist, she also swims, walks and loves to ski regularly. Combined with yoga they offer a perfect combination for overall health and well-being.
