Escape to the rolling landscape of North Norfolk, our nearest town is Swaffham and old market town and the beaches of Holkham and Wells-by-the-sea are a 30 minute drive away.
The surrounding area of our venue is peaceful countryside with market towns dotted around due to the county being mostly farming for centuries.
We take you on a walk to Castle Acre which is an old castle with an old monastery that was burnt down when King Henry the VIII took down the catholic church. It is a pretty village steeped in history and the walk is picturesque.
The venue is a sustainably run retreat centre with the environment at the heart of what they do. The grounds are a beauty to see with a Japanese Garden, paths weaving in and out of woodland with benches to sit and enjoy the best views. There are a swimming lake and a swimming pool and fire pits for evening gatherings. It’s not just a house and a garden, it is so much more,
Only 2 hours from London and with easy access to the north and midlands it is perfectly situated for everyone.
How do I get there?
You can come by car and from London, it takes about 2 hours. By train, you go to Downham Market and it is about 35 minutes away. We recommend booking your train at the recommended train times on our website (see 'how to get there' section at the bottom of the Norfolk page) to share taxis.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
Not for this retreat. As it is a retreat centre they provide yoga mats, blocks, bricks and straps. If you like to use anything else or prefer your own mat please bring it with you.
