In summer the alps have very relaxing energy and a slow pace, surrounded by the gorgeous bright colours of spring and summer with wildflowers and wild blueberries contrasting with the snowcapped mountain tops. Anytime in the French Alps in summer is a great time to be there. In fact, July and August are great times to be there to get away from the heat and crowds of the coastline in Europe. It is still possible to enjoy long hikes in peak summer because with altitude it gets cooler. As well as hiking in the summer there are lots of bike tracks for downhill or road cycling, try parapenting or even white water rafting. It can be an active holiday in summer but there is always time to relax in the sunshine and read a good book.
Your summer French Alps holiday for 2023 is situated near Moutiers in a quaint and peaceful French village 1300m above sea level with views across to Courcheval and Meribel ski areas. The views are breathtaking here and a real feast for the eyes. Your week will be packed with visits to local markets, hiking high up in the mountains, picnic stops, meditating with the views, spa days, a cooking workshop.
Where do I fly to and how long is the transfer?
Fly to Geneva. We have recommended flight times so that you can meet the transfer bus that is included in the price of the holiday. It takes less than 2 hours drive from Geneva.
Train travel: If you are coming from the UK there is the option to travel by train from London Saint Pancras to Bourg-Saint-Maurice changing in Paris during the summer months. The transfer from Bourg-Saint-Maurice is an hour away to the venue.
