Lea De-Travy

Lea’s creative and enthusiast personality translates into a playful seasonal cooking, Mediterranean-inspired, rich of unique toppings and nutritious layers for a deeply satisfying moment. She believes in the power of great food to bring people together, spark conversations and nurture them inside and out. Expect attention to details as much as colour, texture and a generous moment of enjoyment.

After more than a decade spent in professional kitchens in Paris and London, including six years working for Ottolenghi, Lea chose to find alignments with her values in leaving the fast pace hospitality to embrace retreat cheffing. A sensible move that allowed her to blend professionalism and admiration for yoga philosophy in order to create a caring and memorable experience. When time allows, she loves to sneak in the afternoon practices!

As a convinced vegetarian, she chooses to work as much as possible with organic, local and seasonal products putting sustainability at the core of her decision making. When possible, she loves to forage ingredients to bring a truly grounded food experience. Thanks to her background in material design, she pays attention to details and visual presentation not only to craft beautiful and nourishing mealtimes, but also to tailor the menu to any dietary requirements.

Lea’s favourite AY retreats:

Peak District: Lea enjoys the story telling of the guide when discovering the local villages during the hikes in the Peak District. A lovely meal and a restorative yoga practice is the perfect end to a peaceful day.
