7 Nights Walking Wellness Yoga Holiday in Sardinia, Italy

Join us on our 7-night walking and beach yoga holiday in Sardinia. Stay in a beautiful villa with sea views and enjoy a guided hike, coastal walks, and yoga. Sardinia is perfect for activities such as wind-surfing, kite-surfing, and sailing; this is your holiday to be as active or relaxed as you like. September and October are beautiful times to go to Sardinia—the crowds are gone, and the beaches are empty.

Come and enjoy our 7-night yoga walking holiday in Sardinia in September and October for a week of sunshine and explore the north coast on our walking yoga holiday Sardinia. Experience the beauty of the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters that Sardinia is famous for, enjoy scenic coastal walks, and explore Italian villages. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach holiday or an action-packed adventure, Sardinia has something to offer everyone.

You will stay on the north coast, west of the pretty town of Santa Teresa Di Gallura, in two villas joined together that overlook the sea towards Corsica, with a private pool and lots of outdoor spaces to enjoy the view or sit under a shade and read a good book. Our walking wellness and beach Sardinia yoga holiday is a chance to enjoy some activities to explore the local area but also stay in ultimate comfort so that you can take the time to unwind, slow down, and return home feeling refreshed and relaxed.

On this yoga walking holiday in Sardinia in September, the price includes a selection of activities, and you can join in as much or as little as you like. One day, enjoy a guided walk from the villa to the local beach town of Vignola Mare to relax on the beach, have an ice cream, and return home. There is a guided walk in the other direction to Badesi, and for a third day, take a day trip to Santa Teresa and explore the infamous Capo Testa with Valle De La Luna, a spiritual spot on this north coast as well as walk around the local market. Santa Teresa also has a beautiful beach, so you get to explore the coastline, villages, and beaches to see what the north coast offers.

If you’re a water sports enthusiast, Sardinia has many thrilling activities that can get your heart pumping. You can try windsurfing or kite-surfing on the beach of Porto Pollo; ask us for more information. We highly recommend taking a day trip to Palau. You can book a day on a boat and sail around the stunning Islands of the Maddalena archipelago, famous for their turquoise waters and beauty. We can arrange this for you as a group.

This 7-night yoga walking retreat in Sardinia is about creating time to explore and relax in the late summer sunshine. September and October are some of the best times to be in Sardinia; the sun is not as hot, the crowds that pack the beaches in July and August have gone home, and it is quiet again, so you have the beaches to yourself.

The venue has an outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers. The closest sandy beach with a little bay is less than 5 minutes’ walk away, and there is also a cafe, restaurant, and supermarket nearby.

Of course, yoga will be present on either side of all the activities during the day.

Your food will be made by our local Sardinian chef, and you will enjoy breakfast, brunch, and evening meals. The food will be vegetarian, and we can also offer vegan and other dietary requirements.

Sustainability

We are working towards reducing our carbon footprint, and here are some ways we, as a company, are doing this.

  • We are an 88% vegan company, 10% vegetarian and 2% fish or meat (only when staying in boutique hotels that offer these options). This makes up a huge percentage of carbon emissions that we easily avoid because our food is still delicious, balanced and creative. So, thanks to you all for enjoying our healthy (mostly) plant-based meals.

The difference: Most travel companies find it hard to encourage their travellers to reduce their meat and dairy consumption, which accounts for a large portion of their carbon emissions.

  • We stay primarily in one location for the duration of the retreat. We have started staying in a few locations on our long haul, but it is limited to 2 or 3 locations over an 8 – 10 night period. Staying in one place means low carbon emissions because we aren’t burning fuel to get around.

The difference: Other adventure travel companies move around every two days, using alot of petrol in vehicles for sometimes only 1 or 2 people.

  • Our activities are low-impact—yoga, hiking, surfing, skiing/boarding, whitewater rafting, SUP, and kayaking are all very low-carbon activities, in fact, zero-carbon (except skiing/snowboarding due to the ski lifts, which is also low). These activities are included in the price we measure. The carbon may increase with travel to and from these activities in vehicles.

The difference: Other travel companies can include high-carbon activities in the price, such as jet skiing, quad biking, and jeep driving, which increases their carbon footprint.

  • We run more than half of our retreats and holidays in the UK; these are very low-carbon holidays.

We currently don’t measure our guests’ travel as part of our carbon output because our guests don’t only come from the UK, so it is hard for us to predict this. We also don’t include travel in the holiday price, which is not part of our calculations. We know that we provide these holidays, so we are looking to include this carbon measurement in the future so we are investigating how we can reduce this.

The carbon measurements at the top of the page with the icons are per person for the whole retreat.

Ultra-low-carbon holidays

These holidays are below 200 kg per person, and our UK retreats are below 100 or even 70 kg, so these are great adventures for low carbon breaks.

Ski holidays are actually low in carbon!

In France, many ski resorts are turning to green energy to power the lifts. If you eat low in meat and dairy while you’re there and hire your ski equipment, this makes your trip as low-carbon as possible.

How can you help?

There are ways that you can help reduce your carbon when coming on our retreats and holidays:

  • Travel by train, try slow travel across Europe and the UK.
  • If travelling abroad to Europe or further afield, choose carbon capture schemes, check out Ecologi. Offsetting is not the best thing to do these days, but try carbon capture where you pay for carbon to be absorbed into the environment.
  • Car share UK – we recommend when guests travel by train to arrive and depart at the same time to taxi share – which helps keep costs and carbon emissions down. Why not consider car share, too? Most guests who drive come alone or with a friend; we have WhatsApp groups that, if you like, you can see who is driving from your area and enjoy getting to know each other on the way to the retreats, and save on your carbon emissions at the same time!

We are by no means saints when it comes to producing carbon, as a travel company we know this is very difficult to reduce. We are working to reduce our carbon output each year by measuring it and then creating plans to reduce it. We are reviewing all our venues and asking them how they can improve their carbon reduction as we don’t own any of our venues but we would like to work with them to help in any way we can.  We want to be transparent with this, so please get in touch for more information. As we change things, we will update the website.

Beautiful Italy

Italy feels different to the likes of other European countries. It is famed for its beauty, history, culture and amazing food but what isn’t so well known is its beautiful landscapes and variety of landscapes, from the Dolomite mountain range in the north to the Tuscan hills in the middle and south and beautiful beaches all along both sides of the boot.

Those seeking hiking holidays in Italy or a wellness retreat in Italy will be spoilt for choice at our location near Santa Teresa Di Gallura.

We will be finding more Italian locations for next year but for now, we are so excited to be providing a leading yoga retreat in Italy at our Sardinia location.

Yoga will be on our shady veranda in the morning, looking out to the sea. To begin, wake up early, and the practice will begin as a gentle awakening, building up to more dynamic vinyasa and hatha flow.  Feel energised, refreshed, and ready for your day in the sun.

Evening yoga on your walking wellness yoga holiday in Sardinia:

The afternoon yoga will be held on the veranda again.  Our evenings are for Yin to unwind from the day’s activities before settling into a more restorative practice, yoga Nidra, and guided meditation.
