What do we do here at Adventure Yogi?

We run active and adventure yoga 3 night weekend retreats and 4 night mid-week retreats in the UK that have an activity such as hiking or walking, sea swimming, wild swimming, SUP and more plus yoga twice a day in beautiful locations and veggie/vegan food.

We run between 4 – 7 night activity and adventure-based yoga holidays in Europe that will have a selection of hikes and walks, culture, swimming, skiing, white water rafting, surfing and more plus 2 yoga classes a day in beautiful locations with veggie and vegan food (some venus offer meat if they are providing the food).

We run 9 – 11 day long haul yoga holidays to bespoke locations that are thoroughly researched and planned to create the best experience with a combination of activities, culture, rest and relaxation in sometimes more than one location in the country you are visiting.

Our retreats are active and adventurous yoga wellness retreats and holidays, with relaxation woven throughout, we call it busy relaxing! If you know, you know!

We are a relaxed yoga holiday company…what does this mean?

  • We have 2 yoga classes a day but you can join in as much or as little as you like
  • We offer activities during the day either hiking, skiing, swimming, SUP, zip-lining, safari, wildlife watching, culture trips, white water rafting, and workshops and you can join in as much or as little as you like
  • We leave a few free days in the schedule so that you can do as you choose, whether that be relax, or if you like to be busy we have additional activities that you can book.
  • If you like active yoga breaks, that get you outside in nature in breathtaking parts of the world, not just yoga and then relax the rest of the day
  • We take the yoga seriously when this is happening and the benefits of this practice is something we urge people to feel and find a connection to, but ultimately you are with us to relax, switch off, meet like-minded people, eat great healthy food and have a good time so that you go home feeling invigorated, refreshed and energised, and positive!

It’s your holiday or break so be as active or relaxed as you like!

We are a business you can trust. We aren’t going anywhere, we have thousands of guests who come back again and again.

Our price range is between mid to high-mid end. We endeavour to curate retreats that are of an affordable price range with lots included so you can choose how much you spend once you get there.

We offer good quality comfortable accommodation, with good quality linen, spacious, quiet yet near some action, so you feel like you are staying in high-level comfort at a great price.

I haven’t done much yoga before/ I am a beginner to yoga, can I come?

We have designed our weekends and weeks for people who love yoga, whether they are beginners or have been practising for years. All our teachers are very experienced and are more than capable of adapting the classes to all levels. Our ethos is about being open & friendly and we set up our business to spread the incredible word of yoga to people who perhaps wouldn’t have gone on a yoga retreat before. So don’t be shy, there is no time like the present to start your journey with yoga!

I am quite an experienced yogi, would I enjoy your retreats?

In a word yes! All our retreats and holidays are suitable for those who have done little or lots of yoga. The teachers are very experienced and ensure that every single person in the group has their needs and expectations met over the time they are with us. We also have our intermediate retreats, especially for people who are seasoned yogis or have been practising for a few years and would like to advance their practice.

I’m a solo traveller, can I come by myself?

Yes, you can come to an Adventure Yogi retreat by yourself. Many people choose to come solo! It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, connect with yourself, and explore a new destination at your own pace.

I would like to book for a group/take over a whole retreat, can I do this?

Yes you can! If you are a group booking (2+) we can accommodate you, and if you would like to take over a whole retreat for your own group or for us to arrange a bespoke retreat we can do this also. Simply email [email protected] and we can get started.

What is the food? veggie/vegan/meat?

We are a vegetarian company based on the yoga diet and a veggie/vegan diet will help you feel energised, focused, and ready to immerse yourself in the practice of yoga.  We know that retreats have evolved and we get asked about serving meat but we have decided to stay as a vegetarian company to stay true to the yoga diet, and also because of our sustainability principles to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum, as this is something we can do to help.

If abroad and you are staying in a boutique hotel or venue that provides their own chefs, there may be a choice of meat and veggie/vegan as that is what they serve. Please note that, on our abroad retreats, we sometimes have the opportunity to eat out at local restaurants, where you can sample authentic dishes that may include meat options.

I am a meat eater so I am nervous about a veggie/vegan diet, what can I do?

If you are a meat eater, fear not! We get emails from guests all the time voicing their concerns here, and then they go on the retreat and are blown away by the creativity, taste and nourishment of the veggie/vegan diet and come home inspired. If you are craving meat on a retreat we recommend you bring some meaty snacks that we can keep in the fridge for you in the UK. If it is an abroad holiday on some trips not all meals are included in the itinerary so you can find a nice cafe/restaurant and have a meaty meal to get your fix!

A typical day of food on an AY retreat

We provide a mix of veggie and plant-based meals. Breakfast is typically vegetarian, with cows milk or plant-based milk for your tea or coffee, natural yoghurts, savoury and sweet options and eggs on some days. Lunch and dinner are plant-based and lunch will either be a packed lunch if out and about or a selection of warm or cold salads/soups depending on the season. Dinner is two courses, a main with a variety of dishes and a dessert. We are low in sugar and have pre-yoga snacks in the morning and post hike/activity snacks in the afternoon. Fruit and herbal teas/coffee/tea are available throughout the day.

What meals are included?

In the UK all meals are provided. Abroad it will depend on the location. It is usually all breakfasts included, some lunches and most dinners except one where you can go out and experience the local area. The best thing to do to find out is go to the ‘what’s included’ section of the holiday/retreat page to find out more.

What’s a typical group like?

Ah this is a difficult one! We love that people of all walks of life join us on our retreats, so it is hard to sum up a typical group. However, there are a few things that unite all of our groups: they tend to be made up of friendly, like-minded people, single travellers, couples, friends and groups, people are respectful of each other and people are looking to relax, unwind and have fun in a safe, welcoming setting.

How many people do you have in a group?

We run such a range of retreats in different venues, but it starts at about 8, and can go up to about 24. We have been doing this a while so have learnt a really good balance, and the groups always feel intimate, with enough staff to make sure you are well looked after.

I have specific dietary requirements, can I still come?

Yes- our wonderful vitality chefs can cater to any dietary requirement. We are vegetarian/vegan on our retreats and holidays. However when you go out for group meals on our holidays, some people do choose fish and meat options.

What if I have to cancel?

We really hope you don’t! But if you do we have a very strict cancellation policy- unfortunately we are a very small company and cancellations can really affect us. See more, here

Can I stay another night?

The best thing to do if you want to extend your stay is get in contact with us at [email protected]

How do I get to your retreats and holidays by public transport?

We make sure that all of our retreats are accessible by public transport by recommending train times that if you stick to, we can organise a group taxi share from the station to the venue. This saves money and is obviously better for the environment. Our holidays sometimes include transfers, sometimes it is an additional cost, but you can rest assured that we always make sure you are looked after travelling to and from the venue.

Can several special offers/discounts be used to reduce the price of a retreat or holiday?

We can only apply one offer at a time, but the best offer can be applied to the cost of the retreat or holiday so you get the best discount.
