23rd July 2022

Perfect for beginners in SUP and all ages welcome!

We are very excited to be able to offer you this new destination for 2022, our yoga holiday in beautiful Sardinia. Staying on the West Coast just south of Alghero, Sardinia is a beautiful emerald in the Mediterranean Sea. With jaw-dropping turquoise waters, you will feel like you’ve been transported to the Caribbean. It is also the wildest part of the Sardinian coastline so expect dramatic cliffs and waves.

On this week-long yoga holiday in Sardinia with us, you will experience so many adventures! Take one day to SUP along the river estuary and another to explore the coastline by sea, hike ancient trails that connect you to nature, relax on the beach and discover the historic town of Bosa.  And we can’t forget a bit of regional wine tasting when we are in Italy.

Either side of all the activities during the day there will, of course, be yoga. Experience this on the beaches at sunrise and sunset, in a yoga shala and on the cliffs. It’s not all adventures, there are beautiful beaches all around to enjoy and relax on with a good book.

All meals, transport, activities and accommodation are included in the price.

Our Yoga Teachers

Over the 13 years that AY has been organising our bespoke retreats, we have always made sure that we work with exceptional yoga teachers who are dedicated to their practice and live and breathe yoga, so you can feel safe in the knowledge that you will be inspired, relaxed and tensions dissolved by the end of your retreat with us.

About the yoga

Morning yoga on your yoga holiday Sardinia:

Morning yoga will be in our yoga shala. To begin, wake up early and the practice will begin as a gentle awakening, building up to more dynamic postures. Soon, you will find you can settle into meditation quicker than before, that silence is something to be cherished. Feel energised and refreshed and ready for your day in the sun.

Evening yoga on your yoga holiday Sardinia:

The afternoon yoga will be held in a mixture of places, on a SUP on one day and on a beach the next. We will also use our yoga shala for a few evenings.  Our evenings are for Yin to unwind from the activities of the day before settling into a more restorative practice, yoga Nidra, and guided meditation.

Beautiful Italy

Italy feels different to the likes of other European countries. It is famed for its beauty, history, culture and amazing food but what isn’t so well known is its beautiful landscapes and variety of landscapes, from the mountains in the north to the hills in the middle and south and beautiful beaches all along both sides of the boot.  We will be finding more Italian locations for next year but for now, we are so excited to be located in Sardinia.

Sardinia is a beautiful Island in the Mediterranean just south of Corsica and north of Sicily. We are situated in the northwest corner of the Island, famed for its national park around Stintino in the most northwestern corner, where there are beautiful bays of turquoise waters and white sandy beaches

We are located in Bosa. Bosa is situated about 40 kilometres south of Alghero on the western coast of Sardinia. It was set up along the banks of the River Temo (Fiume Temo). Bosa was once an important royal town and a hub of economic activity and even today, along the river, you will come across the ruins of ancient tanneries. To experience the heart of the town is to explore the maze of medieval streets in the town centre which only emphasize the rich heritage of this place, for it is here you will find many stone staircases, cobbled walkways and facades painted in happy pastel shades that evoke images of another era from a long time ago. In Bosa, you have 3 museums to visit the Castle of Malaspina… An undiscovered gem on the western coast of Sardinia and a town that has adopted all contemporary amenities without letting go of its rich cultural history; Bosa is the perfect Mediterranean escapade and a destination rich with new experiences.

Itinerary

Our itinerary for our week-long yoga holiday Sardinia is jam-packed with adventure! See opposite for a day to day itinerary. Each day is sandwiched with morning and evening yoga.

You will be picked up by our transfer from Alghero airport and the evening will be relaxed, settling into the hotel, a team talk of the week ahead and dinner.

The final day will be breakfast and departure. See the ‘how to get there’ section below for more information on recommended travel.

Extra Activities

There are also other activities that can be enjoyed such as scuba diving, a sailing boat day tour and a day tour to Alghero city.

Via Ferrata – this is a protected climbing route, with a variety of steel cable rails, metal steps, ladders, suspension bridges and zip wires.
